  • BitTitan issued a press release on Tuesday announcing new Microsoft Teams private chat migration capabilities for its workspace data migration platform. MigrationWiz automates the migration of email, documents, archives, and collaboration data, primarily supporting migrations from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
  • The platform vendor (acquired by Idera in 2021) is urging partners to reposition migration projects as ongoing services rather than one-time transactions. Lon Clark, Idera Vice President and Global Channel Sales Director for BitTitan, told Channel Dive: "You can use it to lower delivery costs, increase profit margins, or enhance the value of your monthly service charges."
  • BitTitan also made two changes to its executive team. According to the press release, Aaron Wadsworth transitioned from General Manager to Senior Director of Product and Strategic Partner Management; Ajay Khatri was brought in to fill the General Manager position.

Deep Dive

This year has been full of changes in the Microsoft channel space: the company realigned its software licensing programs, launched the Copilot-enabled 365 E7 suite, and kicked off a massive agentic AI push under the banner of "Frontier Transformation." Nicole Dezen, Microsoft's Chief Partner Officer and CVP of Channel Partner Sales, told Channel Dive in April: "We know that to have credibility and deep expertise in AI, partners must use AI themselves first. This is not something that can be sold automatically. Having genuine, hands-on experience with the product makes partner salespeople better sellers."

As Microsoft pushes partners not only to sell products but also to deliver outcomes and get customers to actually use rather than merely adopt AI tools, BitTitan is providing managed service providers (MSPs) with a way to incorporate 365 migrations into their service portfolios.

Clark said: "Migrations used to be one-time projects, but that's no longer the case because mergers and acquisitions happen at all levels at any time—whether it's a dental practice with three clinics acquiring two more, or a large company like Coca-Cola or Pepsi—migrations are always present."

Clark added that while automation is the secret sauce BitTitan brings, the human element is what makes MSPs indispensable. "AI can help, and it can also be harmful," he said. "It should be used as an enabling tool... No one wants to entrust their entire IT to AI because it's about their security, it's about everything."

Just as organizations rely on MSPs to manage migrations, BitTitan is working to make that painful process less difficult. Clark said: "When I turn on my computer, I don't care what it's connected to in the backend. Whether you're migrating from on-premises or Google to Microsoft 365, it doesn't matter. As an end user, what I care about is that when I boot up on Monday, the system works just as well as it did when I shut it down on Friday."
